Justin Rickett begins his second season as an assistant Varsity Baseball coach at West. A lifelong Forsyth County resident, he is a 2002 graduate of South Forsyth High School where he lettered in both football and baseball. A standout in high school, Justin continued his baseball career by playing at North Georgia College and State University from 2004-2007 where he was a member of the 2004 Region Championship team and 2005 Conference Championship team. After graduating in December, 2007, he began his teaching career at West. He was recently married to his wife Erin, a 5th grade teacher at Vickery Creek Elementary School. Justin also serves as the assistant varsity softball coach at West. |

Jim Ernst is a product of the northwest suburbs of
Chicago
where he played ball at
Lake
Zurich
High School
. After high school, he attended the
University
of
Iowa
for one year as a walk-on left handed bull-pen specialist. He returned to
Chicago
and finished his schooling at
DePaul
University
with a B.A. in Secondary Education and Biology. This is his 6th year of teaching and coaching. Since being hired on at
West
Forsyth
High School
, Coach Ernst has taught Honors Biology and AP Biology and has had the honor of beginning the WFHS Swim Team and Water Polo Club Team.
Jim began his baseball coaching career as an assistant to the sophomore baseball coach at

in
Palatine

IL
. After a move to
West Palm Beach
,
Florida
he became the head coach of the Lake Worth High School Junior Varsity Team and also assisted at the varsity level coaching the outfielders and positioning the defense.
Jim lives in Cumming with his wife Jacqueline, and their 2 year old son

Camden
has shown signs of having a rocket left arm so they are hopeful!! Jacqueline is due with their second child (a girl) on April 10th…right in the middle of baseball season!

Coach Phillips is a 1997 graduate of Milton High School where he was an all-region selection as a pitcher. He continued his playing career at Samford University where he pitched in games against Vanderbilt and his beloved Georgia Bulldogs. He then transferred to Truett-McConnell College playing on a team that was ranked in the top 15 nationally. Matt comes to West from Centennial High School where he was an assistant coach under Billy Nicholson for four years. His wife, Meredith, is a math teacher and coach also at West, and they have one daughter, Camryn, who was born last fall. Coach Phillips is excited to be at West, and is looking forward to a fantastic season.

This is Coach Finn's first year to work and coach in Forsyth County. He is a graduate of Roswell High School where he played and pitched in their baseball program for four years. Coach Finn then received his undergraduate degree from Valdosta State; also coaching baseball in Valdosta while attending school. He obtained his master's degree in school counseling in 2008 and now serves as a middle school counselor at Liberty Middle School. He will serve as an assitant football coach at Liberty in the fall, and will be working with the JV and 9th grade baseball teams at West. Welcome, Coach Finn. |
