Welcome Coach Greathouse to Tecumseh
The Tecumseh Wrestling Program added another member to its staff this week as Tony Greathouse acceppted a position as an Assistant Wrestling Coach. Coach Greathouse will also be an Elementary Physical Education Teacher at Herrick Park Elementary in Tecumseh this year as well. Coach Greathouse has a long history of wrestling as he was a 2 x high school state champ and was Captain of the Michigan State University Wrestling Team, and was an NCAA Qualifier. We welcome Coach Greathouse to the family.

In the begining preparation of the 2010 2nd annual wrestling golf outing we are looking to grow our event and have another great outing. We want to extend an invitation to all members of our club, middle school, and high school friends and family. We are all part of the wrestling program and supporting this event by golfing, getting a team together, sponoring, or finding sponsors for the event allows us to have fun while raising money for our program without selling anything. Please plan on participating and sign up early so we can get things in order ahead of time for our event. Thanks for all of your support for Tecumseh Wrestling. Coach Randolph
10 More Train with Ken Chertow at Tecumseh High School
Olympian and NCAA Div. 1 All-American Ken Chertow brought his nationally renowned wrestling camp to Tecumseh for a week. Guest clinicians were Mike Mena (4 x All-American Iowa), Mark Marinelli (2 x All-American Ohio State), among other clinicians. This camp was split into groups and offer Tecumseh student-athletes an opportunity to attend a nationally famous camp at a low price in their home town. Ten Tecumseh wrestlers took advantage of the opportunity and had a great time learning wrestling during their three training sessions a day. Jeff Jenkins, Ryan Harrison, Collin Lesko, Anthony Lesko, Drew Marten, Jake Hilton, Rick Azelton, Josh Hilton, Brady Randolph, and Mike Turner all participated in the five day camp and went the extra mile to improve. Remember the lessons in technique, but also the lessons in putting your efforts into the academic classroom as well. As Chertow says, "Be a scholar athlete, not a dumb jock"
24 Become EMU Trained
For six days 24 wrestlers from Tecumseh participated in an intensive camp at EMU from June 20-25. They were trained by Head EMU Coach Derek DelPorto (former All-American), Assistant Coaches David Bolyard and Joe Pflug who were both former All-Americans, as well as the rest of the EMU Wrestling Team. Participants were: Joey Rebottaro, Luke Liuzzi, Ronnie Bechtol, CJ Tripp, Gavin Burstall, Pat Beguhn, Derek Martin, Nick Taylor, Jake Hilton, Ryan Harrison, Devin Moore, Cole Amstutz, Cullen Haesler, Charlie Haesler, Nate Bagby, Jeff Jenkins, Devin Moore, Tom Carney, Prestin Pelham, Christian Shelby, Ayron Birchfield, Ricky Azelton, Collin Lekso, and Anthony Lekso. Summer work makes winter champions.
Tecumseh to Host the 1st Annual Michigan Grappler Classic
This is a pre-season national tournament that will use college ridding time and out of bounds rules for takedowns. This will draw some of the nations and Michigans best wrestlers to our school and town for the event. Check the links below for the full advertisement for the event.
Connors Signs with The University of Indianapolis
After placing 4th and 2nd at Heavyweight for the Indians Connors will accept an athletic scholarship to wrestle for the NCAA Division 2 Greyhounds. After the season concluded Connors wrestled at Flo Nationals and turned some heads as he placed 5th earning All-American status. Connors is not done either, he has recently been choosen to wrestling in the MWA Classic as well as participate in the Disney Duals as part of Team Michigan.

Note that all wrestlers report to study hall or weight lifting(if they do not have class) at 2:45 each day. Study hall is dismissed at 3:45 each day and practice starts at 4pm every school day.
