Mike Krause joined the CC wrestling family in 2008 when he started the "Team Shamrock School of Wrestling". Krause's enthusiasim and love for the sport has turned the Catholic Central feeding program into one of the priemier clubs in the state. Coach Kruase in his first year at the helm of Team Shamrock has qualified 21 of 26 wrestlers for the MMWA State Finals. He has been featured on www.flowrestling.com on many occasions and is considered by many as one of the nations best youth coaches and clinicians.
Coach Krause has been wrestling, competing, and coaching over the last twenty five years. Mike was the first all-state wrestler in Livonia Churchill history. He went on to earn a scholarship at Michigan State University, and lettered each of his four years of NCAA Division one competition.
Upon graduation, Mike coached at Livonia Stevenson from 1992-1999. With no feeder program the Spartans had five individual state champions, 27 all-state wrestlers, and multiple WLAA conference titles. Mike went on to be Ryan Churella's work out partner for his senior year in high school. Ryan went on to be the 145 pound state champ and the nation high school champion as well. (Ryan's only lost that year was to Mike Krause 11-8).
Mike then went on to coach at Northville and with an extremely young and inexperienced team he lead them to a District title in two years. In 2003 Mike moved his family to Hartland and was in the room at Hartland High School with the head gear and rolling with the team.
Mike then got involved in the youth wrestling after the tragic death of Chase Metcalf.
Mike then lead the Hartland Youth Wrestling Team to Back to Back MMWA State Championships. He has now found his way to Catholic Central as the Head Coach of the Team Shamrock School of Wrestling
