Andraya Helps Team USA Bring Home the Bronze Medal with Win Over Canada

Buford High School's Andraya Carter helped the United States 17 and under 3 on 3 team acheive a 6-1 record and capture the bronze medal in Singapore this past week.  The USA team won their pool and advanced to the semifinals, where they suffered their first defeat to Australia in overtime.  After regrouping and refocusing, the American team of Andraya, Briyona Canty, Kiah Stokes, and Amber Henson bounced back and defeated Canada to bring home a medal.  Andraya's overall quote about her international experience was "It was amazing."
All of the Buford community, school system, basketball program, and friends and family are so proud of Andraya and her basketball accomplishments and wish her a safe and happy return to her home.

Atlanta Dream and Buford Lady Wolves Participate in ESPN Rise Photo Shoot

It was really a "Dream" come true when ESPN RISE came calling on the Buford Lady Wolves Basketball Program.  The Lady Wolves teamed up with Atlanta Dream players,  Angel McCoughtry, Alison Bales and Iziane "Izzi" Castro to demonstrate basketball drills and weight training techniques.  Lady Wolves players spent an entire afternoon with "the pros" of the WNBA sharing jumpers, laughs, and just hanging out sharing experiences that will be treasured memories for a lifetime.  ESPN RISE takes professional teams and matches them with high school teams for the purpose of teaching skill techniques and drills and according to one of the editors of the magazine, when calling about a team based in Georgia, the name Buford Lady Wolves kept coming up from many different sources.   Thus, the "Dream" match up came about and an afternoon of fun and learning was  shared by  individuals from both teams.  From shooting contests, to sharing stories on the floor in a circle, all players both high school and professional enjoyed each others personalities and company.  It was an experience enjoyed by all and created memories that will always be cherished.  The Lady Wolves again proved that their program is more than state championship trophies and winning, as they impressed both the professional players and the magazine staff from ESPN with the way they represented Buford and our community as young women of character and integrity.   To say the three organizations hit it off the bat would be an understatement.  A good time was had my all!

Lady Wolves Summer Camp HUGE Success!!

The numbers in the pack continue to grow as our summer camp participation was over a 100 campers learning the enviroment of our program.  Over 100 future Lady Wolves attended the 2010 Lady Wolves summer camp this past June and a fun filled four days were had by all.  At the end of the week, no one could tell who had the most benefits, the campers or the players working the camp.  Both had huge smiles on their faces and great memories in their heart as both worked to become better basketball players, but more important better young ladies.  From fundamental skills to full court games, everyone enjoyed this summer experience.  The Lady Wolves basketball program would like to thank all current Lady Wolves, past Lady Wolves, parents of future players and most important the future players for making this camp the best we have had so far at Buford.  Now go to work and make your future dreams come true!

Take a look at the pictures below to see the great time had by all.
