Thank you to the many Copley Wrestlers and coaches that made a commitment to improve this offseason. Here is a short list of those that worked to put Copley wrestling in a position to have the best team in school history in 2010-11, if I forgot you, sorry!
Sam Wheeler- Freestyle state champion, competed in the National freestyle duals in Oklahoma City with a winning record.
Jon Garrison- Competed in the Disney duals in Orlando with a winning record, a regular at open mats.
Ben Soltis- Competed in The Freestyle national tournament in Fargo, ND. Attended the Jordan State Champ Camp at St. Paris Graham.
Zach Walker- Attended the Jordan State Champ camp, a regular at Open mats, wrestled in several open tournys.
Justin Parker- Attended the Jordan State Champ camp
Karl Hiss- Attended the best Heavy Weight Camp in the country at Edinboro with Gold Medalists Bruce Baumgartner, Rulon Gardner, and others.
Dean Casanova- attended the Ohio big man camp at Ashland Crestview and had the opportunity to wrestle with several state champions.
12 Wrestlers attended the Mount Union dual camp where the CHS Indians went 9-1-1!
7 Indian wrestlers competed at the Lake under the lights tournament till 2 am!
There are several other events that CHS wrestlers competed in, great job all! 2010-2011 will be a special season for Copley, and this is thanks to your efforts! |

Coach Jim Dies took over as the Head Coach of the Copley wrestling program in 2005. He was a succesful competitor for Copley Youth, Middle, and High School wrestling, and has been coaching in the system since his graduation from high school in 1997. A lifelong member of the Copley-Fairlawn community, Coach Jim Dies is proud to be leading the Copley wrestling program to a new level of success. |
