Michigan USA Wrestling State Finals Results
Brent Winekoff placed 3rd at 152 in Greco Roman. This qualifies Brent for the Junior Duals team that is traveling to Oklahoma City, OK for the National Duals Tournament. Brent is also qualified for a trip to Fargo, ND for the freestyle and Greco-Roman National Championships. Julia Salata placed 2nd at the Women's State Championships at 124 pounds. Julia did not loose a match, but had to forfiet in the finals due to a prior committment. This qualifies her for Team Michigan Women's Team that will travel to Fargo, ND for the National Duals and the Freestyle National Championships.
Zach Blevins wrestling at 60 pounds in the Midget age group and placed 2nd in the state in the freestyle tournament. This was Zach's second freestyle tournament ever. Great job.
Brayden Randolph finished the season by winning the Triple Crown. He won the Greco-Roman State Title on Friday night and the Freestyle State Title on Saturday. He had won the Folkstyle State Title earlier in the season and finished strong.
6th Annual Pressure Wrestling Camp
June 20 &21
After a year off the Canton Wrestling Staff will resume the pressure wrestling camp at Canton High Schools North Building. Located at 8415 N. Canton Center Rd. Canton, MI 48187. This camp is for all ages and abilities. This will teach wrestlers how to maintain constant pressure on thier opponents throughout an entire match. Ages K-12 will be accepted with split instruction based on ability and age. The camp cost will be $75 (includes a camp shirt) and will run three sessions a day for two days. Lunch is on your own both days. Water will be provided. The Camp will be held in the Orchestra Room and Wrestling Room in the Canton North Building. If a camper is going to miss a session please let us know. Please send checks payable to Canton Wrestling at 44195 Cranberry Dr. Canton, MI 48187. Canton Wrestling Club has 4 National Placers
Four Canton Wrestling Club members competed in the 1st Annual NUWAY Folkstyle Nationals held at Battle Creek Kellogg Arena on Sunday, April 6th.
All four wrestlers placed as we had three finalist and two champions.

Julia competed in the 11th annual women's folkstyle national tournament held at Livonia Churchill High School on March 29&30. Julia placed 7th place at 124 pounds to earn All-American status in her first girls national tournament. Julia helped the State of Michigan finish in 2nd place overall behind champion California.. Julia put herself in the forefront to represent Michigan at 124 pounds on Team Michigan and wrestle in Fargo, ND in the Accelerade Freestyle National Championships. Steve Cox Competes at Senior Nationals
Steve lost his first match in triple overtime and then lost by a point to a three time state champ. Steve qualified for this event by placing 5th in the state tournament. Nice job Steve and good luck choosing a college to wrestle at.
Canton Wrestling Club Banquet Date Change
The Canton Wrestling Club Banquet is Thursday, May 15th at 6:30pm in the Canton Cafeteria. It is a pot luck dinner with year end awards to follow. Please plan on attending if you participated in the club at any level this year. All club participants will recieve an award for the year. We will also announce the club wrestler of the year.

The club has enjoyed the most successful seasons ever by qualifying 27 wrestlers to the MYWAY State Championships at Jenison Field House at Michigan State University.

All club singlets and headgear need to be turned in by the banquet. Equipment can be turned into Coach Randolph or Coach Price at practice on M/W from 6-8pm. You may not use a singlet with a school name on it for FS/GR. You will need a red/blue reversable singlet. Please email or call with questions.
Canton Wrestling has been selected as a Regional Training Site for
Team Michigan's Freestyle, & Greco-Roman Training.
Training will take place on Monday's and Wednesday's from 6-8pm starting Monday, March 10th and running throughout the Summer. Anyone can participate in these open room training sessions. There will be a $5 charge per practice and you must have your USA Wrestling Card. For more information on obtaining your USA Wrestling Card, go to www.musaw.org
Canton Wrestling Teams Up with David Bolyard and Advantage Wrestling Club
Coach Bolyard is an All-American from Central Michigan University and is the current Assistant Coach at Eastern Michigan University. Coach Bolyard will be running work outs Tuesday's and Thursday's 6-8pm out of the Eastern Michigan Wrestling Room Located in the Warner Building attached to Bowen Field House. Summer Wrestling Camp
We will be attending Eastern Michigan's Summer Wrestling Camp.
This is a two part camp.
The first part is a five day intensive camp followed by a team camp.
We would like all of our wrestlers to attend both sessions of Camp at EMU. We will be staying at EMU as well. I want our team to bond during this time and want to discourage anyone commuting unless you have to.
