Chagrin Falls Nicki Henry wins North Coast Junior Tour event

Nicki Henry of Chagrin Falls had an outstanding round as she won the North Coast Junior Tour event at Blackbrook Country Club in Mentor. Henry shot 77 to earn victory over Halley Morell of Brecksville by six strokes. Henry's consistent 39-38 bettered Morell's 83, three strokes less than Emily Jereb of Concord. Aly Ales of Solon was seventh as she shot 97 and Kelly Poe of Chagrin Falls was ninth at 99. Beachwood's Lisa Blumenthal was 10th with 105.

Highland's girls kept their unbeaten streak alive with a convincing 165-186 win over Green. The Hornets also beat out three other teams during a quad meet with Brecksville, Strongsville and Amherst.

The Hornets finished with a team score of 166, followed by Brecksville (170), Strongsville (173) and Amherst (249).

• Brecksville’s girls placed second at the Division I sectional golf tournament at Gleneagles Golf Course and advanced to the district tournament which was played on Tuesday. The Lady Bees finished with a team score of 361, placing behind winner Hudson (331). Nikki Costa led the way for Brecksville with a round of 88, followed by Tess Stevens (89), Halley Morell (92), Emily O’Donnell (92) and Brynn Schumacher (94).
