Name: Mike Carter
Position: Middle School Coach
Year(s): 2
Michael fell in love with volleyball when he was introduced to the sport following a successful high school basketball career. He went on to play Division I volleyball for George Mason University in Fairfax, VA from 1994-1997. During his stay at GMU, the Patriots were ranked as high as #8 in the nation and played in their conference (EIVA) finals each year. Because of his hard work and team spirit, Michael was named team captain for his senior year.

After his college playing career, Michael was offered and accepted the assistant coaching position at Marymount University in Arlington, VA. After returning to his hometown Atlanta, Michael accepted the head coach position with Spelman College. During his four years at Spelman, he led the Jaguars to a dramatic turnaround in the program and their first winning seasons. Since completing his stay at Spelman College, Michael found his true calling which is having a positive impact on the lives of young athletes through coaching Junior Olympic volleyball. He has coached every level of junior athlete and has helped lead many teams and individuals to success both on and off the court.
